Monthly Digest – July 2026

On Friday, 10th July 2026, members of the Rotary Club of Chhoti Kashi gathered at Hotel Aashirwad, Jamnagar, for the official installation ceremony of the new Rotary Year (2026–27). The ceremonial handover marks the beginning of an exciting leadership term that runs through June 2027.

🏫 Community Projects: Elaborated Impact & Service Drives

Our first service project drive for the Rotary Year 2026–27 took off with great momentum on 7th July 2026, spearheaded by our dedicated Women Empowerment Team—led by Project Chair Rtn. Deepal Patel, along with Rtn. Kajal Bathia, Rtn. Deepkala Donga, Rtn. Mittal Patel, and club spouses.

A total of 11 dedicated volunteers (including District Governor Nilesh Shah and Assistant Governor Kamlesh Kanabar ) contributed 5.5 total man-hours to execute four vital community initiatives:

📚 1. Library Setup & Book Donation

• Location: Naghedi Kumar Shala
• Project Chair: Rtn. Ankur Kantariya
• Contribution: Donated a complete library cupboard along with 500+ books.
• Impact: Direct benefit to 325+ primary school students.

💡 Social Importance & Long-Term Impact:

Access to quality reading material outside of standard textbooks is critical for foundational literacy, cognitive growth, and critical thinking in developing children. In rural primary schools, limited access to diverse literature often hinders a child’s vocabulary expansion and imagination.

By installing a modern library cupboard stocked with over 500 books, this project establishes a lasting educational infrastructure at Naghedi Kumar Shala. It cultivates a self-sustaining reading culture, bridges the educational resource gap for underprivileged children, and empowers over 325 young minds to explore stories and knowledge beyond their standard curriculum—laying a foundation for higher academic success and life-long learning.

🎒 2. School Admission Support

• Location: Naghedi Kumar Shala
• Project Chair: Rtn. Harish Keshwala
• Impact: Supported complete enrollment for 4 students to ensure uninterrupted access to basic education.

💡 Social Importance & Long-Term Impact:

Financial constraints and administrative hurdles are major catalysts for early school dropouts among vulnerable families. Every child denied basic primary education faces an increased risk of long-term economic marginalization.

Sponsoring school admissions directly intervenes at a critical crossroad in these children’s lives. This targeted initiative removes socio-economic barriers to entry, guaranteeing that these 4 students remain within the formal schooling system. In the long run, keeping children in school breaks intergenerational cycles of poverty, lowers dropout rates in rural communities, and provides youth with the foundational credentials needed for future employment and social mobility.

🤰 3. Maternal & Child Health Support

• Location: Naghedi Health Centre
• Project Chair: Rtn. Deepal Patel
• Impact: Distributed targeted nutrition kits to 200 pregnant women.

💡 Social Importance & Long-Term Impact:

Maternal and neonatal health are core indicators of community development. Malnutrition during pregnancy significantly raises the risk of maternal anemia, low birth weight, developmental delays, and infant mortality, particularly in rural and low-income demographics.

Providing specialized nutrition kits directly addresses dietary deficiencies during critical gestational stages. This project reduces birth complications, improves neonatal survival rates, and supports the physical wellbeing of mothers. By safeguarding the health of 200 pregnant women, our club actively contributes to reducing regional maternal-infant mortality rates and helps foster a healthier, stronger next generation.

🏥 4. Health Care & Community Wellness

• Location: Naghedi Health Centre
• Key Components & Chairs:
  • Mamta Card Distribution: Chaired by Rtn. Parin Gokani ; benefiting 400 women and children.
  • Medicines & BP Machine Distribution: Chaired by Rtn. Harish Keshwala ; benefiting 500+ villager families.

💡 Social Importance & Long-Term Impact:

Preventative healthcare and medical tracking are frequently neglected in rural areas due to financial distress or lack of awareness. Undiagnosed hypertension and unmonitored maternal-child health metrics often lead to severe, preventable medical emergencies.

• Mamta Cards: Facilitate systematic tracking of immunizations, maternal check-ups, and early childhood growth milestones for 400 individuals, embedding structural medical monitoring into rural health infrastructure.
• Medicines & BP Machines: Provide immediate relief for seasonal ailments while enabling essential diagnostic tools at local health hubs to monitor cardiovascular health across 500+ families.

Together, these combined healthcare interventions relieve financial strain on marginalized rural households, raise community health literacy, and build a proactive healthcare culture that reduces emergency medical costs over time.
